POWER
is THE community organizing training that offers low-income people
living with HIV/AIDS the ability to learn how to win victories
that will change the policies that affect their lives!
This
4-week training session will offer you skills in community organizing,
advocacy and building campaigns. Participants will learn the history
of welfare, DASIS and basic information about welfare benefits.
POWER
seeks low-income HIV+ individuals who are committed to bringing
about real social change for homeless and formerly homeless people
living with AIDS and people on welfare.
POWER
starts June 28th, 2004, so register TODAY!
Classes
will be held every Monday and Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. at CitiWide
Harm Reduction in the Bronx.
All
graduates get a free membership to the NYC AIDS Housing Network,
have the ability to make policy decisions about the work that
we do and receive a diploma upon completion
Past
graduates of our training have become paid community organizers,
housing specialists, Assistant Directors, Policy Analysts and
have even received fellowships.
