Mission
Statement
The
Parolee Human Rights Project (PHRP) is comprised of NYCAHN members
that are
fighting
for the human rights of prisoners, parolees, and their affected communities.
We
are committed to effect change and improve conditions through
community
organizing, direct advocacy /actions, community
education
and supporting city and state legislative bills that are
responsive
to the needs of low-income people living with
AIDS/HIV/HCV,
and their affected communities.
We
recognize that all members of our community (including those that
happen to be behind
prison
walls) are entitled to adequate healthcare, and deserve to be treated
humanely, with
fairness
respect and dignity.
