HASA began denying homeless people with AIDS emergency housing, even though they are required by law to provide same-day, medically appropriate housing.

In response to this crisis, NYCAHN formed a HUMAN RIGHTS WATCH the 10 welfare centers in the City that serve low-income people living with HIV/AIDS.

This Watch is a system to observe, monitor and document human rights violations (such as denial of housing) at the centers.

NYCAHN continues to track human rights violations at the City's 10 welfare centers serving homeless people living with AIDS.  You can join our outreach team to help us reach these goals.
